About the Risk Academy

The GRF Davos Risk Academy is a think-tank for risk reduction, disaster management, climate change and risk issues in general. By organising various continuous education courses, training sessions and workshops, it operates as a knowledge management platform that strives to bridge the gap between academia, politics and practice.  By giving a strong emphasis to research and development, GRF Risk Academy offers co-ordination services for international research and development initiatives, engages in publishing blueprints and white papers and is currently preparing an e-journal with the goal of providing an international outlet for good practice solutions. It also focuses on awareness-raising for risk and disaster issues, climate change, environmental degradation, poverty and sustainable developments.

Workshops and Courses

The Risk Academy serves as a training facility for sustainable, practical and international education in the field of risk prevention and disaster management, with reference to current scientific, political and economically relevant aspects.

It supports the transfer of knowledge through training courses, seminars, workshops and lecture series on current issues and new technologies as well as international experience.

Scientific Journals

Promoting constant dialogue within the worldwide risk community GRF Davos has already launched two open access e-journals within its Risk Academy:

Committed to improved understanding of risks and disasters, these journals serve as tools for the dissemination and sharing of know-how and expertise.

Awareness Raising

GRF Davos advocates for an improved understanding, assessment and management of all kinds of disasters and risks. Thus, public awareness raising for risk related topics is at the core of GRF Davos' mission.The Risk Academy is offering different tools for awareness raising of disaster and risk management, and prevention topics such as public lectures, movie screenings and several online resources such as games and quizes or movie reviews.
